Wood Poems

Early in 2002, I became overwhelmingly drawn into the incredible patterns and textures that were revealed in the beautiful grains of woods when my husband began woodturning. I was inspired by what was "removed" in order to reveal a new shape and sculptural beauty. The connections between the original source material, the fragments that were spiraled away, and the final form that emerged invoked a spiritual exploration of my own in homage to what can only be the mythical spirit within.
