Developed and now coordinate
degree program leading to Associates in Applied Science in Graphic Design and
teach classes in visual communications, illustration, computer graphics, print,
web design and animation. Advise students, manage part-time faculty and student
assistants. Approximately 150-170 declared
student majors. Revised program in June 2002, incorporating new General Education
requirements. Developed and manage Graphic Design Mac Lab. Faculty Advisor
for Studio 205, student-run Graphic Design Club. Grant recipient for Animating
Democracy Initiative leading to online art project on gun violence. Lead overseas
college grant-funded cross-cultural arts-focused study tour to Fiji in 1999,
2001 and 2004. Sabbatical Research Award, Winter 2005.

Regional institution of consortium of 12 member island nations in
Pacific Basin, multi-cultural, multi-lingual environment. Creative, administrative
duties involved maintaining a culturally sensitive balance in the development
of strategic marketing pieces and educational support material for the university
clients in these third world island nations.
Adjunct Lecturer in Journalism • January 1994 to

Islands
Prepared weekly lectures, assignments at the start-up of this new degree
program. Later taught portions of each of three levels of Journalism courses
including basic newswriting, journalism ethics, feature writing and reporting,
photojournalism, magazine journalism, public relations, and design techniques
in newspaper and magazine layout.

(NetAid).

In addition, in June/July 2000, I arranged to host online the then-banned University of the South Pacific student newspaper when the university administration violated international free speech initiatives by closing it down during a crisis period of social and political unrest in the Fiji Islands. Funded by a grant from the C.S. Mott Foundation and Ford Foundation
under the Animating Democracy Initiative. Coordinated multi-media project featuring
